⚡ The best piece of advice I can give: ALWAYS invest in your network.

I can’t say this enough. Tending to your network on a regular basis is so beneficial professionally and personally. But it’s hard to stop and start networking efforts, and it’s really easy for it to feel transactional if you only try to tap into it when you need something.

Some of my favorite tips and tricks to keep your network primed, active, and fresh:

✅ Just like a daily movement practice, create a daily networking practice. Send at least one networking focused message each day. On the flip side, try to respond to one networking focused message each day.

✅ Bring value to your conversations. Learn about the person you’re connecting with. Understand what challenges they’re facing. Bring ideas that don’t require them to buy something from you or do something for you.

✅ Variety is the spice of life! Don’t spend your whole day on video calls. Go for an outdoor walk and talk in real life or on the phone. Meet someone for coffee. Send messages with content that you think is relevant to the person.

✅ Growth mindsets pay off. Get out of your comfort zone and reach out to someone you admire. The worst thing that happens is that someone doesn’t respond to you or says no. The best thing? You get to have an awesome conversation with someone you can learn from and share your expertise with.

🙌 Your network is your most valuable asset. Your relationships should be nurtured, valued, and protected. Make sure they’re not one-sided and that you’re not always asking for something.
